Dr Saka Balogun a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has told members of the party not to be cajoled by the ‘Oju Oloore’ campaign mantra adopted by the son of late governor of Oyo state Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, Olamijuwonlo.

Dr Balogun, who was Chief of Staff to late Alao-Akala, issued this warning Sunday during a PDP Ogbomoso Zone stakeholders meeting held at his residence.

Olamijuwonlo, a former chairman of Ogbomoso North local government is eyeing the House of Representatives seat in 2023 to represent Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Oriire federal constituency, basking in the euphoria of the love the people of Ogbomoso believably have for his father, and has come up with a bold campaign slogan,”Oju Oloore”

But Dr Balogun noted he did not expect PDP members to be bought into this saying anyone embracing it woild be deemed as committing anti-party activity.

The former Presidential Liaison Officer during the regime of President Sheu Shagari stated, “I don’t expect members of the PDP to be involved in the euphoria of Oju Oloore slogan, they shouldn’t do anything outside what our party supports and promotes.

“Anyone who does that will be regarded as doing anti-party activity. We have nothing to do with it.”

Recalling he was part and parcel of Akala administration and conversant with its workings suggested there was need to make a break from the past and support a fresh candidate.

“You should support our candidate, steer clear of Oju Oloore euphoria,” the octogenarian said.

He said if Akala helped people it was those close to him and his family “those are the ones that can say Oju Oloore.”

In a chat with ogbomosoinsightonline.com after the meeting, Dr Balogun reiterated his position revealing he once told the younger Alao-Akala to brace up if he wanted to assume leadership position.
