The family of the hotelier killed by his abductors in Abaa, Ogbomoso last week, Olugbenga Owolabi, had refuted the claim that a younger brother of the victim by name Femi Owolabi had been nabbed by the police for complicity in the saga.
The report circulating in the social media even had it that the alleged brother, Femi Owolabi, had made confessional statement admitting to the crime and blaming it on the devil.
However, ogbomosoinsightonline.com was told by the elder brother of the deceased Mr Ayo Owolabi, Sunday evening that they had no sibling bearing Femi Owolabi adding that no family member was arrested in connection with the kidnap and murder of his brother, Gbenga.
“You can tell that to the marines,” he blasted.
He assured truth would be revealed in due time.
Recall that on July 28, the hotelier, Gbenga Owolabi, who just returned from the United States of America, was kidnapped in his hotel – Tana Suites, at Abaa, Ilorin road, along with a staffer in the hotel, Rachael Opadele, a final year student at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.
Few days later after a ransom of N5m was paid by the family of Gbenga the kidnappers still went ahead to kill the victims and the motorcyclist that conveyed the ransom bearer to the kidnappers. The ransom bearer escaped death by the whiskers.
It is hoped the police will get to the root of the matter and bring w perpetrators to book.
