The ‘other side’ of GHANDI

The name Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye first popped up in the Ogbomoso milieu in March this year when he emerged as the choice of the kingmakers for the throne of Soun, the last occupier of the historical throne, Oba (Dr) Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III JP, CON, CFR, having joined his ancestors on December 12, 2021.

Prince Ghandi Olaoye, a US-based businessman and pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, had been preferred over 22 other aspirants to become Soun-nominee. His emergence as people got to know his rich antecedent, his national and international connections, his famed wealth, exposure, education, quiet mien and such positive vibes increasingly made him become more acceptable to the people of Ogbomoso, many who now see him as a worthy successor to the immediate past Soun, whose eminent standing, believably, played a significant role in re-engineering the realm, helping to sustain her as a cornucopia of glory and making her a more fabulously conurbation of reckoning. Lo and behold “Ghandi” or “Pastor G” as he is popularly called, became an instant hit with many heaping encomiums on the kingmakers for the “job well done” and hailing the Olaoye family for producing such a man of quality.

However, that is not to say he is without opposition – there are a number of forces which are non-hesitant in demurring to his choice. That is normal anyway!

But the voices reaching out to Governor Oluseyi Makinde, Oyo state helmsman, to do the needful and allow the process to be concluded by granting approval to Prince Ghandi Olaoye’s nomination, have continued to be strident. The governor has been in possession of his name as Soun nominee since March 23, but inexplicably, the man, who is statutorily conferred with authority to seal the nomination, has refused to do so, thus exacerbating suspense in the community.

Meanwhile, the more the wait the more the people are afforded the opportunity of seeing the ‘other side’ of the much-awaited KING.

Here, presents the ‘other side,’ in photos, of Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, by which we mean his rich circle of friends.
