Khalid ABRAHAM
A point of sale (POS) terminal operator minutes ago foiled an attempt to swindle her of N50, 000.
The incident, which happened at Oja’gbo, Ogbomoso, opposite the Ajagbon side, has seen the ‘accomplice,’ a woman, being taken in by operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, for interrogation.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect rushed to the POS terminal to ask the agent to transfer a sum of N50, 000 to an account.
“The POS agent perhaps suspecting foul play pretended she had transferred the amount to the account.
“The suspect now demanded for the receipt just as the operator requested for the cash. It turned out that the ‘customer’ had no cash on her.”
It resulted into argument, which drew spectators.
The POS agent consequently called her husband on phone who upon arrival invited SARS operatives, ogbomosoinsightonline.com was further informed.
The parties are now at the SARS office at Ogbomoso Ultra-Modern Market, a development confirmed by source at the SARS office.
Four days ago, on Sunday, ogbomosoinsightonline.com, published an article on the increasing wave of swindling targeted at POS terminal agents, which has seen many of them losing various amounts of their hard earned money, while urging agents to be extra-smart in managing the business.
