The Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde has arrived in Ibadan after a week outside the state.

Ghandi gathered that the governor may speedily act on the appointment of a new Soun of Ogbomosoland, which is waiting for his approval. broke the news last week that the chairman of Ogbomoso North local government Hon Kabiru Akanji Ayoade had communicated the name of Prince Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye as nominee of the Ogbomoso kingmakers to the governor for final ratification.
However, Engr Makinde was on a trip outside the state at the time. He is now back and may act on the issue in earnest.
Meanwhile, there have been series of protests amidst a section of the Laoye Ruling House who are disputing the manner of emergence of Prince Ghandi Olaoye.
Their grouse is that he was not in the list originally forwarded to the kingmakers for consideration.
They consequently claimed his emergence was a kind of imposition. Letters of protest by the screening committee members as well as by five of the eleven princes whose names were forwarded to the kingmakers, had been submitted to the governor, both demanding the rejection of Prince Ghandi as the Crown Prince.

There are also insinuations that if Ghandi is eventually announced there might be mayhems foisted on the town by the aggrieved. Security agents are meanwhile on alert to forestall any break down of law and order.
