Alaasa ward PDP exco hails Oke-Legacy as most educated, politically experienced House of Reps’ aspirant, endorses him

Ahead 2023 general elections, the Alaasa ward executive committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbomoso North Local Government Area of Oyo State has endorsed Hon. John Adisa Oke to be the party’s flag bearer for House of Representatives, Ogbomoso North, South, Oriire federal constituency.

This endorsement came up during an exco meeting last-week during which they unanimously pledged their support for Oke popularly known as Omo- Baba LEGACY.
The excos revealed that they resolved to endorse the incumbent member of the Oyo state Local Government Service Commission due to his outstanding contributions towards the development of the party and the federal constituency as a whole.
This incredible performance according to them “has not only surpassed all achievements of other aspirants but became a model for others to emulate.”
While speaking, the ward chairman, Kamorudeen Dauda, reiterated that among those coming out to show interest, “Legacy is the most educated, politically experienced coupled with the fact that his father made tremendous impact both in PDP and Ogbomoso town before he passed on.”
According to him, “others are new comers. You have been on board for a while. Even when you couldn’t take the ticket in 2019, the sportsmanship spirit in you didn’t make you to leave the party but supported the party’s candidate strongly.
“His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde compensated you with Director of Youth- mobilization for his campaign team.
“You have also given scholarships to many youths, widows and orphans including series of empowerment schemes among others.
“To endorse you for the post of House of Representatives is based on equity and fairness as you stand tall among your contemporaries.”
The chairman said Oke-LEGACY is one of the major employers of labour in Ogbomoso, noting that he brought youths from all over the country to study in Ogbomoso.
In his response, Hon Oke-LEGACY thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for making him relevant after election as he pledged his continuous support for the governor.
He also thanked the ward executives for the confidence they reposed in him while reassuring them and the people of Ogbomoso North, South and Oriire federal constituency that he would continue to strive hard to ensure that the constituency is well represented if given the opportunity.
Oke-LEGACY noted that his services to the people were borne out of his intention to follow in his father’s footsteps and to leave positive legacy asserting that it was not so much about the coming elections.
He added, “power belongs to the almighty God and knowing fully well that He will ask me to give account of my stewardship in any leadership position l found himself, l am bound to do well.”
The House of Representatives’ hopeful promised to donate a motorized borehole in Alasa ward in appreciation of their full support.
Those present at the meeting included his mother, Mrs Oke who appreciated them for their support and political aspiration.
Mrs Oke promised that his family through the Oke LEGACY Foundation will continue to support Ogbomoso and Oyo indigenes.
She appealed to everyone to continue to support the effort of Engineer Seyi Makinde administration which she said had brought a new look to Oyo state.
