Ogbomoso: See when new Chief Imam will be turbaned, his biography and predecessors

The newly appointed Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Sheikh Teliat Oluwasina Yunus Ayilara, is to be turbaned on Friday November 19, 2021.
The turbaning ceremony, which will be a grand occasion will take place, according to information reaching ogbomosoinsightonline.com at the palace of Ogbomoso at Oja’gbo starting 9am.
The new Chief Imam, Sheikh Ayilara was unveiled last Thursday, November 11, after emerging the favoured candidate following a rigorous selection process coordinated by the cabinet of the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland and ratified by the Soun of Ogbomosoland Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III JP CON CFR.
Sheikh Ayilara will serve the Ogbomoso Muslim Community as the 13th Chief Imam. He is succeeding Sheikh Asafa Yekeen Sanusi who passed on on October 7, 2021.

Biography of Imam Toliat Oluwasina Yunus Ayilara
Sheikh Toliat Oluwasina Yunus Ayilara hails from Imam Ayilara house of Isale-Afon area, Ogbomoso North local government.
He is 40 years old and attended Thannawiyyah, Zulikha Abiola Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies (2005).
He also studied Arabic and Islamic Studies at the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta (2005) and bagged BA, Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Ibadan (2011).
In 2016, he bagged MA, Arabic Language and Literature at the University of Ibadan.
He is currently studying for his Ph.D in Arabic Language and Literature.
Until his elevation as Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, he was the Chief Imam, Adiam Memorial Central Mosque, Iporo-Ake, Abeokuta.
He is the founder/principal, Talihat Yusuf Centre for Arabic and Islamic Studies, Abeokuta.
The new Chief Imam is meanwhile a Deputy Superintendent of Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, which however he is expected to resign from.
His work starts on Friday after his turbaning ceremony as he will lead the Jumat prayer at the Ogbomoso Central Mosque, Oja’gbo.
Top dignitaries from all over the country are expected at the occasion.
