The Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has finally released the 2021 results of the Basic Education Certificate Examination, BECE, and the common entrance examinations sat for in July.
According to a circular dispatched to secondary schools in the state and seen by ogbomosoinsightonline.com, the heads of schools are to collect the results from their various Local Inspector of Education (LIE) offices from Monday, October 18, for the processes of admissions into JSS one and SSS one.
The circular also reminded principals of strict compliance with the present administration’s free education policy warning of dire consequences if this is flouted.
“I am directed to inform you that, placement & BECE exam results has (sic) been released and you are to collect the results from the L.I.E. immediately.
“On no condition should any principal allow any student(s) to stay in school without placement/ BECE results.
“All principals are to ensure total compliance to the instructions and education policy program of “Free Education”.
“The Ministry of Education, Science &Technology will soon start monitoring of school to ensure total compliance.”
It will be recalled that we reported earlier in the week that parents and guardians as well as students/pupils who wrote the exams had begun to show elements of frustrations over non-release of the results, according to Information gathered, prompting many of them to bombard public schools to inquire about when their children could start the 2021/2022 academic session, which started four weeks ago.
The release of the results consequently will stir ecstatic feeling among those categories of students.
