Ogbomoso road to be closed Friday to enable repairs by youth group

To put finishing touches on the rehabilitation of the South West – North trunk A road that traverses Ogbomoso metropolis that is in a deplorable condition often eliciting disgusting traffic snarls Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum, OCYF, has announced the partial closure of the road tomorrow, Friday, October 8, 2021.
This is contained in a press release signed by the group’s president, secretary and PRO, Rev’d Peter Olaleye, Comrade Adeniji Idowu and Comrade Adebayo Adeniran respectively, and made available to ogbomosoinsightonline.com.
According to the release the partial closure will commence by 10am when vehicles will not be allowed to ply the road.

The damaged portions are Caretaker, Olopemarun and Idi-Oro areas, which are all marked by craters.
The youth group has since few days ago embarked on evacuation of dirts and debris from the blocked drainages just as it starts construction of drainages elsewhere.
“This is to inform the members of the public that due to the road fixing work at Caretaker area, Ogbomoso, championed by Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum (OCYF), we are compelled by the stakeholders to inform you that there shall be a partial closure on Friday 8th, October, 2021 by 10am in order to ensure that more is done at the damaged roads!
“While the Caretaker work is in progress, the drainage construction of Olopemarun area will also kick off.”
Expressing appreciation for those supporting the community service the association, which also spearheaded the campaign against alleged high handedness of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC, Ogbomoso business unit earlier this year, also disclosed the repair work on the Federal Government College axis would be carried out next week.
It added, “Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum (OCYF) took the initiative to fix some of these roads because of the nonchalant attitude of the government,” while calling on everyone especially the well-to-do in the society to rally for the execution of the project.
