Oyo workers are currently in a jubilant mood as their promised promotion is being actualized with the issuance of promotion letters to qualified staffs.
As at the last count workers in three ministries have started collecting their letters. These are Ministries of Commerce and Cooperative, Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters and Information.
“Yes, workers in those three ministries have started collecting their letters,” a source confirmed.
It is learnt that workers in other ministries would from next week start to collect their own too.
A source at TESCOM zonal office, Ogbomoso informed ogbomosoinsightonline.com that some mistakes were initially discovered in the list forwarded from the TESCOM headquarters, Ibadan but that these had been rectified, “in the next one or two weeks, TESCOM will begin issuance of promotion letters as well, there is no cause for alarm.”
It is further learnt that Oyo state governor, Engr Seyi Makinde this week issued a directive that the promotion letters be released forthwith to all qualified workers.
Jubilant workers have been hailing the governor for his approval of their promotion, some of which had been due since 2017.
It will however take effect financially from August 1, 2021.
