Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has approved the release of promotion letters to civil servants in the state.
The categories of workers to benefit are those eligible for the outstanding years 2017 to 2020 promotions.
This is according to a press release signed by the chairman, Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Kamoru Aderibigbe.
The release states that the promotions take effect nominally from the month of January or July of each respective years while the financial effective date of promotion is 1st August, 2021.
It is recalled that eligible workers earlier this year underwent interviews after Governor Makinde directed the exercise should commence.
Alhaji Aderigbigbe while hailing Makinde noted that this is the first time in the history of the Oyo state that arrears of promotion owed by the preceding administration would be approved without workers resorting to strike.
He consequently charged all civil/public servants in the state to reciprocate the kind gesture of the governor by putting in their best in the service of the state.
He expressed appreciation to the governor for what he described as his commitment to making life better for workers, pensioners and the entire people of the spptate.
