Femi Onireti Foundation will tomorrow, Saturday, 18th September, extend its philanthropic works in Ogbomoso as some members of the community will benefit from its next phase of empowerment programme, scheduled to hold at its residence at Papa Adiatu, Odo-Oru Area, Ogbomoso.
According to a release personally signed by the founder and executive chairman of the foundation, Mr. Femi Onireti, the eleemosynary gesture is just one of the series of packages lined up to alleviate poverty in the land, disclosing that activities such as these were his calling.
Onireti stressed that he was never driven by personal desires for gains in whatever form explaining that it was a call to assist the less-privileged in the society.
The US-based businessman said his philanthropic activities predated his recent forays into politics asserting that touching lives positively gives him immense pleasure.
“Next weekend (September 19 – 20), our foundation, Femi Onireti Foundation, will roll out a programme to assist some needy persons in Ogbomoso community which is another in the series of our philanthropic activities.
“Our motivation is not based on anything personal; we are not looking at any return maybe now or in the future, we will be contented with whatever rewards granted us by God.
“These, we have been doing before my venture into politics recently, what gives me most joy is making meaningful impact in the lives of the less-privileged. We will continue to be involved in philanthropic activities politics or no politics.”
Among others, motorcycles, sewing machines, grinding machines and cash rewards will be carted home by beneficiaries.
Meanwhile, the phase will also witness visits to hospitals to assist patients who aren’t able to pay up their discharge bills especially in the children’s ward.
This is just as arrangements are being made to intervene at The Nigerian Correctional Service (Ogbomoso Farm Centre) “to assist prisoners who have options of fine to gain their freedom and help them set up businesses or vocations after their jail terms.”
On Monday, September 21, 2020, Onireti, a mover and shaker in the political circle in Oyo state, would formally join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a programme to be attended by chieftains of the ruling party across the state.
